Speaker: Eric Lai (Arts Technology Director)

Though technology advances by leaps and bounds, incorporating cinematic visual effects into coventional theatre stages still appears impossible. Eric Lai will share how he deconstructs VFX syntax and translates it onto the stage as a key strategy. This encompasses real-time projection, motion tracking, parallax design and safety management, enabling audiences to witness the birth of this “impossible” magic live.

The presenter reserves the right to substitute artists and change the programme should unavoidable circumstances make it necessary

        • Please arrive at the venue 10 minutes before the programme starts and present the enrolment ID in the confirmation email for admission (both digital and printed copies are acceptable).
        • Reserved place(s) will be released 10 minutes after the programme commencement time to walk-in patrons on a first-come, first-served basis.
        • Photo-taking and filming for personal use only without disturbing others is allowed. Flash and tripods are not allowed.
        • Participants are advised to deposit large objects at the cloakroom.
        • Programmes will normally be cancelled when Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above, or the Black Rainstorm Warning is issued or remains in effect 3 hours before the programme starts.
